A free public concert in Marcus’ Sandtown-Winchester and Upton neighborhoods on historic Pennsylvania Avenue.  Once renowned as the heart of arts and entertainment in Baltimore, Pennsylvania Avenue boasted a rich array of jazz clubs where greats including Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane, Sonny Stitt and Gary Bartz all performed.  Though the area has struggled over recent decades, Marcus’ community nonprofit Intersection of Change has worked over the past 20 years to revive two major blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue (at Presstman Street) by reclaiming all the vacant buildings and lots as programs addressing poverty related challenges in the community.

Come see this significant concert as Marcus presents his new quintet music written to capture the community through music.  The outdoor show will be filmed live and feature notable musicians all with significant ties to Baltimore.
